APPLICANT PROCESS

 

The Town of La Crosse Police Department does not accept applications unless there are currently advertised positions. Check on the Recruitment Page for details.

All applicants for Police positions undergo a thorough background investigation. If you are interested in applying, please download one of the application forms below AND a Records Release Form. Complete these, sign them, and submit them to the Chief of Police, Town of Lacrosse Police Department, 202 Carolina Street (POB 178), La Crosse, Virginia 23950. NOTE: The Release of Information Form must be notarized.

Once the completed applicant package is received, applicant will undergo the following steps:

1. Initial Interview

2. Fingerprinted and photographed (must bring government issued photo ID)

3. A preliminary background investigation wil be conducted.

4. At this point, applicants who have not been eliminated will have to undero a physical examination by a licensed physician

5. After these results, applicants will have a Complete Background Investigation conducted.

6. Applicants will then be invited to an oral board interview.

7. Applicants will be notified by mail of their status.
